Criteria For Hunting Outfitters Permit

The applicant must have:

  1. Proof that he/she attended a registered Professional Hunting School & possesses the necessary knowledge, ability, skill & experience required, as well as having passed the relevant practical examinations (same as for Professional Hunter).
  2. Proof that he/she has successfully completed the theoretical examination set by the relevant Provincial Nature Conservation Authorities.  No person under the age of twenty-one (21) shall be issued a permit to operate as a Hunting Outfitter.
  3. Proof that he/she has been an active Professional Hunter for a period of at least three (3) years, or is the owner of the land, which land will be used for the purpose of outfitting/hunting.
  4. Membership of a recognized Professional Hunters’ Association depending on Provincial regulations.
  5. The Outfitter have to be a registered Professional hunter in that province unless special circumstances allows him otherwise.

CRITERIA FOR RENEWAL of an HO Permit:
The applicant must submit:

  1. The applicable written application and any documents required by the relevant conservation authority;
  2. Proof that he/she can provide the services and facilities required, within the boundaries of that particular province. If the applicant is not a landowner, the applicant must submit a letter of permission of such a landowner who can provide access to facilities, which must be approved by the relevant conservation authority, for the same period applicable to the permit application;
  3. The relevant landowners written permission or hunting rights for the species he/she advertises for hunting in that particular province;
  4. Any form of promotional material / medium, if such is used, for approval. The promotional material must correctly describe services, facilities, conveniences and animal species that can be provided. If such promotional material is amended, it must be submitted for update of records. The use of agents will be subject to provisions set up;
  5. Payment of the relevant processing fees;
  6. Proof that he/she has a valid permit to act as a professional hunter.
