40th PHASA Convention & AGM

The Resort:

Members are requested to identify, approach and nominate candidates with a passion for our association and the trophy hunting sector to stand for office. 


Workshops:

PHASA will workshop two topics on Monday, 20th November 2017:

  1. Proposed Constitutional Changes and Disciplinary Procedures
  2. Sustainable Use

Philanthropist and owner of the Save Conservancy, in Zimbabwe, Wilfried Pabst, who made the second biggest exodus of wildlife (6,000 head of game) from Zimbabwe to Mozambique possible recently, will be our guest speaker on the latter topic.

A third workshop topic will be announced shortly.


Awards:

Conservation and Empowerment Fund:

The PHASA Conservation and Empowerment Fund will report back to members on progress made with the Conservation Research Fund’s leopard and predator project. Members will also get feedback on other projects, such as the Fund’s involvement in K9 anti-poaching initiatives in the Kruger National Park and Kwa-Zulu Natal as well as transformation and empowerment projects across the country.

The convention is an excellent opportunity for new members to become acquainted with our industry, and meet and learn from the “old hands”, and for our young professional hunters to meet our outfitters and, hopefully, obtain some hunting days.

We encourage all our members to attend.


Parents!!  Information regarding children facilities at the Convention:

Babysitters:

Babysitters need to be booked in advance.  R100.00 for the first two hours or part thereof, and R50.00 per hour thereafter.  Only available from 17h00 onward, unless by prior arrangement

“Little Explorers” runs from 9 am to 9 pm daily. It is an entertainment centre aimed at Children aged 0-12, but some toys for smaller children are available (soft blocks, push walker, etc).  Please note any child under the age of 3 must be supervised by an adult.

The centre is an open facility where it is up to the parents to ensure the safe coming and goings to and from the facility. The facility includes jungle gyms, air hockey, football, push bike track, swings, table tennis, PS and XBOX gaming stations and a cinema room.  A coffee shop, turned children's dining area from 5 pm to 7 pm, is also available (children’s dinner buffet).  

Champagne Sports Resort has entertainment staff on duty and activities scheduled throughout the day, however the children do play at their own risk. Parents are welcome to join the children, either inside, at our outside jungle gym and push bike track as well as the coffee shop inside the facility.

CSR also has a newly refurbished Games Room for Children older than 12 with air hockey, foosball, table tennis, PS and XBOX gaming stations, pool tables and a chill/lounge area.

We require a minimum of 2 nights’ stay during a weekend.

When booking a MDTW/YDTW Inter-Leading Room for Children, the eldest Child will pay R 1 080.00 per night and the other children will pay children’s rates according to age above.
