Pretoria, 21 April 2016 – The Professional Hunters’ Association of South Africa (PHASA) has appointed Ripcord as its official rescue and evacuation provider.
Ripcord is powered by Redpoint Resolutions, a leading travel risk and crisis response company, and was specifically developed for hunters and outdoor enthusiasts. Ripcord combines travel insurance with rescue and evacuation services under a single programme.
Tharia Unwin, PHASA chief executive, says PHASA is extremely happy to work with Ripcord and look forward to a productive and mutually rewarding relationship. “With Ripcord as our official partner, we are looking to provide our members with even more benefits,” she says.
According to Unwin, these benefits for PHASA members include:
• a 15% discount off the Ripcord evacuation programme;
• a 15% revenue share for PHASA members for the successful referral of a client to Redpoint plus an additional 5% for PHASA’s Conservation and Empowerment Fund; and
• the evacuation programme at no cost for every sixth successful referral (where travel insurance is also included, the evacuation portion of the Ripcord programme will be at no cost). The referral does not have to be a client.
The Redpoint team is made up of old army rangers and former navy seals, as well as Stanford-affiliated physicians, paramedics, nurses and former intelligence officers. Not only does it offer rescue services via helicopter, bush plane and heavy-duty ground and marine vehicles, but it will also transport you to the hospital of your choosing from anywhere in the world.
It has evacuated media members from war zones in the Middle East, as well as rescuing Nepal earthquake survivors from Mount Everest. It covers anything from an armed conflict through a natural disaster and a terrorist attack to a political uprising. This is in addition to providing on-site and telephonic medical support and consultation, while offering travel medical insurance.
